Pawstruck is a family-run company based in Long Beach, California, founded in 2014. It now offers over 30 different types of chews on its website, many available in various sizes and quantities. The company emphasizes quality, conducting microbiological, physical, and chemical safety tests during production, and verifying consistency and batch quality.

Why Choosing the Right Chew for Your Dog Can Be Difficult

Finding the perfect chew for your dog and the specific occasion can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. Common complaints include chews being too hard, lasting too short, being great during downtime but boring otherwise, or being devoured too quickly. The solution lies in variety, yet many pet stores and online retailers offer limited selections, failing to satisfy dogs with specific tastes.

How Pawstruck Is Different

Pawstruck stands out through its impressive diversity. With over 30 chew types, including single-ingredient options for dogs with allergies or sensitivities, the brand covers everything from long-lasting Himalayan yak chews to thick 12-inch bull horns, tender esophagus, and thin tendons. Even my cat has preferences in their inventory.

What Types of Dogs Is Pawstruck Suitable

Pawstruck has something for nearly every dog. Powerful chewers enjoy 12-inch thick bull horns. Sensitive dogs benefit from high-value, easy-to-chew options like boiled beef trachea. Large and small dogs alike find perfect matches in their vast selection, ranging from thin bull horns to thick varieties. The catalog includes options for all life stages and chewing styles.

What I Tested

I received three products from Pawstruck, each ideal for different dog types and situations. Each was evaluated by a diverse group of pets, and every one found something to love.

12-Inch Straight Bull Horns

These thick, long bull horns were perfect for my powerful chewers, Bo and Burley, two 80-kilogram Labrador retrievers. Paired with a bull horn holder, each lasted several hours. Made from South American beef and slow-baked to reduce odor, they provided extended chewing satisfaction.

Junior Bull Horn Chews (Bully Slims)

Despite the name, Bully Slims are not made from traditional bull horn. Instead, they use Southeast Asian beef pizzle, slow-cooked to create a softer, crunchier texture easier to chew than standard bull horns. My 15-year-old dog, who loves to chew but has few teeth left, adored them. My cat is also a big fan.

Boiled Beef Trachea Choppers

One of Pawstruck’s newest additions, these crunchy treats come in large chunks the size and thickness of a hand. They break down easily and offer high value. Broken into smaller pieces, they make excellent training rewards. Ideal for small dogs, especially those less motivated by standard chews, I often stuff them into Kongs for a tasty, engaging treat.

What’s in a Chew?

Pawstruck keeps many chews refreshingly simple, starting with recognizable animal ingredients rather than long additive lists. Their bull horns, for example, are made from beef pizzle that is cleaned, dried, and slow-baked. Trachea chews contain only the inner layer of beef trachea. Other options include esophagus, tendons, ears, and other animal parts, prepared through drying or cooking to create desired textures.
