A young girl recently shared a heartbreaking goodbye with her beloved neighborhood cat. Lainey, now five, formed an extraordinary bond with Binx the cat during the isolating days of the 2020 pandemic. Their friendship, born on daily walks, became a source of comfort and joy for the child.

Binx, unlike many cats, welcomed the attention of children. He especially cherished his time with Lainey. Their unique connection blossomed when Lainey, due to pandemic restrictions, couldn't play with other kids.

How Did This Friendship End?

Lainey's family began daily walks in March 2020. This is when they first encountered Binx. The friendly feline would often join them, sometimes for the entire walk. He would even wait at the family's door for Lainey to come out.

Their walks became a cherished routine. Binx would greet Lainey with purrs and headbutts. He offered companionship when human interaction was limited. Their bond was truly special.
